Mumineen Foundation Inc. (MFI), a non-profit organization committed to uplifting and empowering communities of African heritage through the provision of scholarships and leadership development opportunities, is excited to announce the commencement of its very first Youth Leadership Program. This transformative initiative designed to nurture and develop the leadership potential of adolescents aged 13 to 18, kicked off last week with a carefully selected cohort of 20 outstanding members from the local community.

The Youth Leadership Program is structured into two distinct modules, each designed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge necessary for future leadership roles. The first module, spanning two weeks, focuses on problem solving, offering participants a dynamic platform to develop their critical thinking and decision-making abilities.

Following the problem-solving module, participants will transition into a comprehensive leadership module that spans the remaining two weeks. This phase is designed to hone their leadership skills, emphasizing qualities such as effective communication, teamwork, and strategic thinking.

The pinnacle of this enriching program will be a grand finale—a two-day leadership session set in the luxurious Hilton Houston Westchase Hotel in Houston, taking place on October 28th. During this final event, participants will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the program in a real-world setting, cementing their role as future leaders.

“This Youth Leadership Program represents our commitment to empowering the next generation of community leaders,” said Raliat Doherty, Board Member at MFI. “We are confident that this inaugural cohort will not only gain valuable skills but also emerge as the torchbearers of positive change within our community.”

MFI is grateful for the support of its partners and sponsors in making this program a reality and looks forward to witnessing the growth and development of the 20 talented individuals selected for this first cohort.
