MFI Annual Scholastic Grant (ASG)
The MFI Annual Scholastic Grant (ASG) is a merit-based financial assistance program offered through the Mumineen Foundation’s scholarship initiative. It is designed to support exceptional students who demonstrate academic excellence, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. The grant aims to reduce the financial burden associated with pursuing higher education and encourage continued excellence.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be of African heritage and identify with underrepresented communities.
- Must be enrolled or accepted into an accredited post-secondary institution (college/university).
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 throughout the grant period.
- Demonstrate financial need (may be verified through FAFSA or equivalent documentation).
- Must be available for a short virtual interview (if shortlisted).
- Must commit to attending a virtual MFI orientation or mentorship session.
Grant Amount and Disbursement:
- Amount: $1,500 – $3,000 per student, annually
- Disbursement Schedule:
- Funds disbursed in two equal installments:
- 50% at the beginning of the academic term (upon verification of enrollment)
- 50% at the midpoint of the academic year (contingent on performance and progress)

Selection Criteria:
Applicants will be assessed based on the following weighted components:
- Academic Achievement (40%)
GPA ≥ 3.5 or equivalent performance in academic records. - Leadership Experience (20%)
Evidence of leadership roles in school, community, or extracurricular activities. - Community Impact (20%)
Demonstrated involvement in community service or social impact initiatives. - Personal Statement (10%)
Quality and clarity of goals, motivation, and vision for the future. - Recommendations (10%)
Endorsements from teachers, mentors, or community leaders.
